Default A solution to AFK people!!!!

I got a lot of solutions to tell.

1. If a person stands in a spot more than 10 minutes, he/she will be automaticly killed and sent back to town.

2. If this person get kick out of a battle more than 5 or 10 times. He/She will not be able to do the battle for a whole day.

3. If player continues he will loose a amount of gold or xp. Depending on what anet wants.

Give ur views and opinions. Tell me more ideas and a moditifed one of mine.

Thank you for your time. Bye bye....bye bye

Various suggestions to improve Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry

Quote:
0. Greatly Improved Ignore list (by GrendelScout1)
Refer the example for an idea of how this would work:
1. John know Mary is a leecher, AFKer
2. John adds Mary to his ignore list
3. John clicks "Enter Mission" in any random arenas
4. John will never be placed in the same team with Mary

5. Other players who did not add Mary to their ignore list could be teamed up with Mary

6. Friends of John who know and trust his judgement also place Mary in thier respective ignore lists.
7. John and his friends live happily ever after.

Ya, very true. Perhaps increase the limit of 10 people in the Ignore List to 100? At least we can ignore 100 Marys? Or even 1,000. At least that would be 1,000 less Marys for us to deal with aye.

Why not expand on that idea and make a "P2P" ignore list?

For instance General Cowbow ignores Dark Lttle War (as an example, any coincidence with a real AFK leech is purely coincidental), so Susan Smith trusts General Cowbow and adds him to her list of trusted friends, by doing this she also inherits General Cowbow's ignore list!

So at the end of the day all we need is 1 authoritative person in the game, and everyone would just add this one person to our trusted list. Problem solved!

Two issues with this suggestion:
1)The simplest bot or even moving two feet manually ever few minutes would circumvent this system.

2)Sometimes you don't mind it when a friend has to afk in a guild group. Real life happens and you know he'll be back as soon as he can be.

I understand the frustration, but the best thing Anet can do is punish individual abusers.

Totally agree with Thom. Especially about the 2nd one , it happens all the time that someone needs to go AFK for a short while...

I like the idea of "John/Mary" though

lots of people going to complain to ANet that they can not enter random battles because as soon as ignore list gets extended me (and lots of other players) gonna put hundreds of local chat spammers there. Given that those places are already not very active, that is going to be a problem for both sides (ignorer and ignoree)

Create a new "Ban List" instead, only put AFKers, quiters in there. Problem resolved.

Problem with this, I sell items I have picked up, I sell anywhere there is a large group people. At some point, every single time, someone will demand that I sell item to them cheaper, though I know my price is reasonable (and within prices listed with the GURU), at this point the person will start flaming me and when I try to respond 'privately' he has me 'ignored'. This wasn't my fault nor my responsiblilty, though I could be affected in the future because of some 12 year olds tantrum.

No thank you...

What a helpful post. You even wrote about improvements on how the idea could be made better. Thanks for the valuable input.

I think the general idea of a list of people you don't want to be in a group with is nice, but inheriting one = bad. If John hates Will, he will add him to his Ignore list. Mary trusts John and will inherit tha hatred. Everyone friends with Mary inherits him as well, etc etc. Basically - if you are on a SINGLE ignore list in the whole game, provided that person has a friend you will almost definitely never be allowed into the mission (because of not being able to go with people ignoring you).

That would never happen. Been as if they have you on ignore in any way shape or form you simply cannot see what they say, full stop. So they'd never be able to see you to start abusing you

The idea behind it still sucks though. Imagine how screwy it would get if they added you onto the ignore list for the laugh

The flamer spammed on the open chat, and whispered me, then hit the ignore button, before I could respond to the junk he was saying...

To turn it around, would you want to party with people who actually trusts jerks like that?

Nice thinking but
1. Bots can be made to move around (and psudo fight - see other pvp)
2 & 3 are depenent on #1

I do agree it's a problem but don't think there is any easy solution.

Other problems with voting systems to flag bad players
->An alliance finds it fun to vote a random person (all almost 1k members)

Team Voting
7 Guild & 1 PUG person, near the end where the guild can do it, kicks the 1 pug.

i'm not following how does that resolve anything...
Dont get me wrong. The general idea is good, but I doubt it can be implemented in a reasonable way in GW.

Just suspend there account for like a week or 2 if there AFKers. Maybe then they'll learn 1k faction isnt worth a week of no faction. =\

I think that an AFK should get a message that they failed the mission and not get anythiong from it.
